Well it's finished

Click here to watch "the Heart of Stone"

It's Based on:
Ezekiel 36:26 (I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh),
The parable of the Prodigal son (Best explained in John MacArthur's sermon "A Tale of Two Sons"),
and the sermons titled "The love of God" by Paul Washer

It was originally going to have the song "Contact" by Falling up but I couldn't be bothered getting rights and stuff so I just made my own song to fit the animation.

I hope you find some truth in this animated film by Gods grace revealing it to you.

New Gospel Animation

If you haven't already done so check out my Spud film, cause it's done.

Now I'm working on a practice animation to prepare myself for Spud - 2. I'm making an animated music video based on an idea I had in 2008. It involved kid robots, magic and a dark forest . But now I've altered it to a more mature audience and being loosely based on the parable of the prodigal son.

I'm aiming for a "With My Mind's Madness" by MindChamber kind of feel to it, but with more relational tension with the violence.

As a rough estimate I would say I'd be finished after 150 hours (by the end of march). though it is half the length of my previous animation that took 200 hours, I will be doing more complicated animation and try to explore my abilities more. Also It's will be easier not having to worry about audio.

I'll let the song (that I'm animating it to) be a surprise.

But before I go to far does anyone know if it is alright to animate to a bands song without asking them?
Is it just considered fan art?
I will put them in my credits.

Thanks ;D

Since the 14th of August 2010, 173 hours have gone into my next film so far, though I'd say 70 of those hours were spent on the storyline and 10 hours on scenes I've cut.

I'm 70% finished and I've set my deadline for the 21st of November.

Also, here are some images I drew when I was 4 that inspired this film.
And the inspiration for my drawings as a kid were superman, batman, transformers, power rangers and me but I'm not sure where I got the ugly squid from.

Inspiration

I can't really say I'm just working on it now because honestly I've been working on it bit by bit over a couple of years. Actually most of the characters I drew when I was around 4. A few years ago I went through all my drawings from when I was primary school aged and I created 7 story lines. This is one of the 7 story lines. I created the first scene in January this year, and looking at it again I want to make it into a film now.

Without giving too much away It's themed around superheroes and will be my first original animation that is a storyline (not allegory stuff).

At the moment it's 7 minutes long but that may change.
I plan to finish in November, and it should be awesome!

Oooo also When I made my film "Truth Hurts" I used three of the characters from this storyline. But I've changed them a bit but three of the characters will be familiar.

In a way I hate writing a whole bunch of stuff because really what good is it all in practicality?

BASICALLY...
God is a person (Jesse), we have offended Him.
If your heart is hard (proud) you do what ever sin you want and you go to hell, in justice. (Blonde girl)
If your heart is soft (humble) in sin, then seeing God's love; You will care about pleasing Him. Like when you love someone. (Dark haired girl)

Here is a whole bunch of writing if you like reading

Having posted my film "I Love Jesse" I hope everyone saw the hidden meaning/s.
I mainly made this film for most modern Christians who are extroverted and often seem to take advantage of God's grace, are heartless about offending God but still think they are following Him. Like what I have been like.

1. Judgement day - (Matthew 7:21-23) Many people who say they are Christians will be revealed as not being followers of Christ, for they trusted in their abilities to earn Heaven. They will be turned down and frankly go to hell.

2. The means of Salvation - Jesse (Jesus) came to earth humbly (hobo) to show His love towards us by dying for our sins (being shot down). He didn't have to for all our sins were against Him and His wrath burns against us who are not innocent. In Him choosing to take our place we became innocent before the Judge (Police)(God).

3. Sin - An inward change brought about by the realization of our great debt to God and what we deserve. Having offended the greatest being in existence she (Bethany) could not chose ignorance like the others. She could have chose to carry on with her life ignoring the truth but she didn't.

4. Saved - The giving up of self accepting failure of redeeming self is a start to being humble and in turn turning to Jesus. Though in this film I made her experience salvation before she knew the means by which she is saved (kinda like in the old testament). Her being saved before choosing to follow Jesus (Jesse) verges on her earning salvation which is not true in reality. See it as her not knowing about the true Jesse because of all the false believers, and Jesse converts her heart in the moment.

When in reality we see our sin and inability to atone for ourselves, then see that Jesus has made a way for us and we seek after Him; That is the way to salvation.

SEQUALS / TRILOGY / SERIES???
I was thinking of making a sequal to this about the dark haired girls past. Where the Dark haired girl is living prosperously. Then being humbled in her circumstances (poverty) she seeks out love. Going into Bobba and Alan fan clubs she finds nothing. She then goes to the Jesse fan club...

or/and a sequal about her life after being cleared of her debt by Jesse. Living in prosperity again she gets back in her old habbits of sin (which offended Jesse in the first place) then she is reminded of where she had been and what Jesse did for her. Then she cannot find it within herself to continue specific sins. She then has something to remind her everyday of Jesse.

Although these will probrably be a long wait (like 2011 or 2012) cause I have a lot of other (more developed) storylines that I want to animate.

2 weeks ago I embarked on my next animation. Now with 50 hours of work behind me on this project I am half way through the visuals. It's a story with a second meaning (the preferred meaning) about an ecstatic fan club being scrutinized by the condemnation of the law, and one girl who can't avoid it anymore. I have estimated another 90 hours work but that will have me finish in February. Still, expect it to be released in March.

Here are a few images to give you a taste of the project so far.

Next Animation Update

I finished my bachelor of animation in 2008 in which "Truth Hurts" is my most recent film to date.
In 2009 I did next to no digital art. No animation, No finished digital paintings only sketches. I focused on creating music in 2009.
In 2010 I'll be creating and animation called "I love Jesse, how about you?" after a year of no animating.

The aim for the film is to represent truly loving someone. I'm almost finished with the animatic and hoping all goes well with it, I should be finished by March. It started out as a Christian thing about hypocritical Christians, but I think that's been over done. And I think with the changes it will make this film more understandable and entertaining with just as much impact. I hope it doesn't turn out to be corny. I hate corny Christian stuff.
